"Is Bollywood the Secret Sleeper Cell of Pakistan & Anti-Hindu Forces? Promotes Pakistani Actor While Pahalgam Bleeds"

As the nation mourns yet another tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed innocent Indian lives, Bollywood once again reveals where its priorities truly lie — not with the country, but with box office profits, even if it means embracing those from across the border. Amidst the grief and fury sweeping the nation, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan was being celebrated on Indian soil through the promotion of his upcoming film Abir Gulaal, co-starring Vaani Kapoor.
The outrage from Indian citizens was instant and justified. Has Bollywood forgotten the wounds of Pulwama, Uri, or the constant martyrdom of our jawans at the borders? Has it become so morally bankrupt that it is willing to roll out red carpets for actors from the very country that harbours and supports terror?

FWICE Steps In: Blanket Boycott on Pakistani Artists Reinstated
Taking a much-needed stand, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a firm statement reinstating their 2019 directive — a blanket ban on Pakistani actors, singers, and technicians. The move comes in response to the heinous Pahalgam attack, which has rekindled widespread anger among the Indian populace. Shared by Ashoke Pandit, President of the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association, the press note read:

“In the wake of these repeated attacks, FWICE reaffirms its unwavering commitment to national interest and solidarity. We reiterate our directive, originally issued on February 18, 2019, calling for complete non-cooperation with all Pakistani artists.”
A bold and necessary step — one that reflects the mood of the nation.
The Hypocrisy of Silence: Bollywood’s Convenient Amnesia
What’s worse is the behaviour of certain Bollywood celebrities, who, even during such a time of national crisis, thought it appropriate to promote a film featuring a Pakistani lead. Actress Vaani Kapoor, who was actively promoting Abir Gulaal with Fawad Khan, posted a praise-filled message for her co-star on Instagram just hours after the attack. Unsurprisingly, public backlash followed — but not because of hate, but because of heartbreak. Her post was seen as an insult to those grieving the loss of loved ones in the terror strike.
Realising the storm she had stirred, Vaani deleted the post and later issued a generic statement expressing sorrow over the Pahalgam tragedy. But the damage was done. The nation saw through the mask — the selective activism, the shallow empathy, and the business-first mindset.
Selective Outrage, Selective Patriotism
When it suits them, Bollywood doesn’t hesitate to chant slogans, share hashtags, and deliver award-ceremony speeches on "unity" and "peace." But when the lives of real people are shattered by bullets and bombs, their loyalty becomes blurred by financial interests and global appeal.
This is the same industry that often accuses others of intolerance while being utterly tone-deaf to the sentiments of the majority. It’s not about targeting an individual actor — it’s about taking a stand. And sadly, the silence and complicity from much of Bollywood are louder than ever.
Final Word
At a time when the nation needed solidarity, Bollywood offered promotions. At a time when Indians were seeking justice, they offered songs. At a time when the soil of Pahalgam soaked the blood of innocents, they wanted to release Abir Gulaal with a Pakistani face leading the screen.
This is not just hypocrisy — this is betrayal. And it’s time the Indian audience calls it out, loud and clear.
